Directions to Ghats and Parking

During the Mela, when the park-and-ride arrangement is in force, you park on the road you arrive by and continue by the official shuttle. Find your road below to see where to park, where the shuttle takes you and the way to the ghat.

During the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027, when the park-and-ride arrangement is in force (on Snan days and other busy days, as announced), vehicles will be kept away from the ghats. For this, parking is planned on each entry road into Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, and the way to the ghat has three steps:

  1. Park at the outer parking (Park & Ride) on the road you arrive by.
  2. Take the official shuttle from there to the inner parking, closer to the ghats.
  3. Walk from the inner parking to the ghat, following the signs.

Please avoid these:

  • Driving on towards the ghats in the hope of parking closer.
  • Driving across the city to use the parking of another road.
  • Parking on the roadside or the highway instead of in the designated parking.

Shuttle timings and the final traffic plan will be published by NTKMA closer to the Mela. Arrangements can change, so check live updates before you set out, and on the day follow the official signs and the directions of the police and volunteers. Nashik: parking and ghats by entry road

Find the road you will arrive by. For each road, the list below shows the outer parking where you park, the inner parking the official shuttle takes you to, and the ghat to walk to from there. Where no ghat is shown, the ghat for that road will be announced: follow the signs from the inner parking.

Trimbakeshwar: parking by approach road

The new ghats planned at Trimbakeshwar will be named and announced by NTKMA, so no ghat is shown for these roads yet. From the inner parking, follow the signs and the directions of the police and volunteers to the Kushavarta Tirth and the ghats.

Arriving by train

The stations listed below are the railway stations near Nashik. How to continue from each station to the ghats, with pick-up points, buses and shuttles, will be published by NTKMA closer to the Mela; check live updates before you travel.

Book your tickets early for the days around each Amrut Snan, and check which of these stations your train stops at. On those days, expect crowds on the platforms and at the exits, and follow the signs and the directions of railway staff, the police and volunteers.

Before you set off

  • Check live updates on this website the day before and again on the day you travel, as arrangements can change.
  • Note the name of your parking, and of the inner parking where the shuttle drops you, so that you can find your way back.
  • Keep elderly members and children close on the shuttle and on the walk, and agree a meeting point in case you are separated.
  • Carry water and wear comfortable footwear: expect to walk from the inner parking to the ghat and back.
  • Do not leave valuables or documents in the vehicle.
  • Do not rely only on Google Maps, which may not show the Mela's road closures and diversions: follow the official signs and the directions of the police and volunteers.
